Pan Am: Killed by government regulation and terrorism



Pan Am was done in by crony capitalist protectionist regulations and finally killed off with the Lockerbie Libyan terrorist attack. Don't you feel so much safer knowing the TSA is there now to save you from that sort of thing?  

I should not be that snarky. The TSA really is the "for show" security in the airports. Since we have not had serious highjackings and terrorist activity on US flights for a while, behind the scenes security is arguably pretty good (it is not like the bad guys aren't trying). But never let a Rule 5 opportunity pass by...
